Down in the Dumps

I am so down in the dumps this week. After Amy and Idan left on Sunday, Yoni spiked a fever of 104. The next day in daycare, he started having difficulty breathing and Mike went to get him and brought him over to clinic (where of course, I was busy seeing patients in addition to freaking out about him). He again had a fever of 104, was given steroids, inhaler treatment and after an hour or so was sent home with Mike and Sylvie. He's had high fevers every day and today, Sylvie started coughing with a fever of 102. To top it off, Mike has a presentation to give tomorrow morning, and I'm seeing patients...argh. Sucks when the kids are sick. To make matters worse, a patient I saw on Monday (1.5yrs old) who stopped walking ended up having a huge brain tumor. I thank the gods I had her admitted. I am so heartbroken for her family...so, I guess I can live with Sylvie and Jonathan being sick. Life just sucks sometimes....but I'll try to keep this bantering to a minimum...have I mentioned that Mike saved a life?

Sorry to hear the bad news. But the sun will shine soon and good times will roll. Wish we were there with you guys to help out.
Be patient and life will be good again soon.

Hope the children are feeling better already. How good it is that you can share also when life is in the dumps. How did Mike save a life?
Much love, Savta Shulamit

It's amazing to me that you have to worry about your own kids being sick, lack of sleep at night and still be able to save other people's lives all at the same time! At least from here, things can only improve. Love you, Ima
