Landmarks

So, according to the tickers above, Jonathan is now 2 and a half years old! He is such a little man and he cracks us up daily with the new things he says. I've been keeping a log of all of the funny things he says, but it's hard to write about them all on the blog. He's using his potty regularly and only uses pull-ups when he sleeps. We constantly tell him how proud we are of him when he makes pee or poop in the potty and now, when either Mike or I go to the bathroom, Yoni tells us "I'm so proud of you!" when we come out. It's hilarious. Lately, he's also very complementary- at dinner: "mmmm....delicious!" I think that's his new favorite word. He also likes to say "Nice shirt mamma, Nice shirt dadda" - as we're getting ready for work. And when dinner is ready and he's waiting on everyone to sit down around the table, he yells: "Come on people!!!" He is just such a fun person to be around. Of course, the most remarkable landmark is that Mike has finally finished all of his in-hospital calls! I can't believe that this moment has finally arrived. Of course, it's not the end of my manning the household by myself, as he's planning on going away to a week-long conference in the spring, but at least he won't be working. Just as I was writing this, we are playing "Candy Land" with Yoni, and Mike licked one of the cards and pasted it on his forehead. With all seriousness, Yoni turned to Mike and said "That's funny daddy, here you go" and gave him another card. Of note, Yoni is memorizing his books at a rapid pace, both in Hebrew and in English. I'll try to get a video of him "reading", but for now, here he is singing a Hebrew song at bedtime.


By the way...what's with the over 3000 hits to our site? Last I looked there were 1000! I'm feeling the pressure, people! We are traveling to CA next week...so I must warn you that there will be TONS of pics in the next entry, but that might not be for awhile.

Wonderful Life

Life is busy busy busy, but oh-so-good...especially since Mike has only ONE CALL LEFT!!! I'm really enjoying work and the kids are just amazing. Yoni is really growing into his role as a big brother very nicely. He loves to sit by Sylvie and read to her or play with her, or even feed her. Everything is "My do it!". He's such a little boss now - Today he talked me through going down the stairs "Keep going, Mama, keep coming...good job!" And watching Sylvie grow is such a pleasure. She absolutely adores Yoni and whenever he's around, she won't take her eyes off of him. I've tried to take some good shots of her 2 bottom teeth (click for the pics)...she is constantly talking, even when she eats, and dinner time is a symphony as Yoni talks with every bite too. I should take a video some time. Anyways...I know it's taking me forever to update, but between trying to pay bills, make something somewhat nutritious for dinner, keep a somewhat clean house, playing with the kids, and work...it doesn't leave much time for updating...not to mention that I've just finished another amazing book (The Pillars of the Earth). Reading for pleasure is now such a forbidden luxury - I treasure each moment :) But a vacation is coming SOON!!!

Back to Reality

No more visitors :( Everyone left this weekend and it's just the four of us again. I still can't believe I have 2 kids...but that's another story. We had a great Hannukah with the whole family and Jonathan and Sylvie were spoiled, as usual. Among his many acquisitions, Jonathan got a fun helicopter that he is flying in this video. He is such a little boy these days. His favorite new word is 'why'. "Why did you do that momma? Why are you going dadda?"...it's all very cute. And speaking of cute, Sylvie has reached a major milestone this weekend...her first tooth is coming out! A tiny little tooth in the middle of her lower gum. She's such a big girl now.
